Easy Grammar has been the right fit for our family. The
curriculum comes with a Teacher’s Guidebook and a Student Workbook. The Teacher’s
Guidebook includes every page that is in the Student workbook. If you decide not
to buy the workbook, you could xerox the daily worksheets for your child. The
curriculum additionally includes Daily Grams that allow you to administer additional
practice for your student, but we haven’t found a need in doing the Daily
Grams.
What I like most about the Easy Grammar curriculum is the
grammatical mechanism that is used to teach grammar. The curriculum starts your
child out memorizing a list of prepositions. Once they memorize prepositions,
they are taught through the identification of prepositions in sentences, how to
identify the subject (nouns), verbs, adverbs, prepositional phrases, etc. in
sentences. All the necessary, key aspects of grammar are included in the Easy
Grammar curriculum. Students learn these aspects of grammar as the complete
their daily worksheets and tests. There are also varying games throughout the
curriculum that the teaching parent can administer to further enforce varying
aspects of grammar to make it fun.
I literally breathed a sigh of relief once Easy Grammar was
incorporated into our curriculum. There is minimal preparation required and my
kids have quickly embraced the techniques taught through Easy Grammar. It was
an easy choice for us!
